# Add Users in the Adobe Admin Console

> Step-by-step guide for administrators: add Adobe users one at a time or in bulk with a CSV file, and resend invitations.

This guide shows administrators how to add people to your organisation in the Adobe Admin Console. Once a user is added, you can give them a product licence at the same time or later.

<Note>
  You need the **System Administrator** role (or **User Group Administrator** for adding users to groups) to add users. See [User groups and admin roles](/partners/adobe/admin-console/groups-and-admin-roles).
</Note>

## Before you start

* **Check your available licences.** Go to the **Products** tab to see how many licences are free for each product. If you've run out, [contact WOHO](/support/contact) to add more seats. See [Adding more licences](/partners/adobe/admin-console/assigning-licences#adding-more-licences).
* **Use work email addresses.** Add users with their company email address (for example, `name@yourcompany.mu`), not a personal Gmail or Hotmail address. This keeps the account and its files under your organisation's control.
* **Know your identity type.** If your organisation uses single sign-on, set up your directory and domain first. See [Identity and single sign-on](/partners/adobe/admin-console/identity-and-sso).

## Add a single user

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Users tab">
    Sign in at [adminconsole.adobe.com](https://adminconsole.adobe.com) and select **Users** from the top menu. Then select **Users** in the left-hand panel.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select Add users">
    Select the **Add users** button in the top-right corner.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the user's details">
    Type the user's email address. If the Admin Console asks for more details, enter their first name, last name, and country. If your organisation has several directories, choose the account type when prompted.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Assign products (optional)">
    Select the **+** (Add) icon next to the user to choose which products to give them, for example **Creative Cloud All Apps** or **Acrobat Pro**. If your organisation has more than one product profile for a product, choose the correct profile. You can skip this step and assign licences later.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Select **Save**. The user appears on the Users page within a few minutes.
  </Step>
</Steps>

You can add several people in the same **Add users** window by entering more email addresses before you select **Save**.

### What the user receives

If you assigned a product, the user receives an email from Adobe inviting them to get started. They should:

1. Open the email and select **Get started**.
2. Sign in, or create a password if they're new to Adobe.
3. Download the **Creative Cloud desktop app** or **Acrobat** and sign in with the same email address.

<Tip>
  Ask users to sign in with their **work email** and to choose the **company or school account** profile if Adobe asks them to pick between a personal and a business profile. Choosing the wrong profile is the most common reason people say "my licence isn't showing".
</Tip>

## Add users in bulk with a CSV file

For onboarding a whole department or migrating many users at once, upload a CSV (comma-separated values) file instead of adding people one by one. The Admin Console accepts up to 25,000 users per file, but Adobe recommends no more than 5,000 per upload for best performance.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the bulk upload option">
    Go to **Users** > **Users**, select the **More options** (**…**) menu next to **Add users**, and choose **Add users by CSV**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Download the CSV template">
    In the window that opens, download the template. Use the template for your account type. Adobe offers a basic template and a comprehensive one with extra columns.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Fill in the template">
    Open the file in Excel, Numbers, or Google Sheets and add one row per user. At minimum, fill in the email address, first name, last name, and country code (use `MU` for Mauritius). To assign licences in the same upload, enter the product profile name exactly as it appears in the **Products** tab.

    **Keep every column**, even if you leave some empty. If a field needs several values, such as two user groups, separate them with commas.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save as CSV">
    Save the file in **CSV UTF-8** format. This preserves names with accents such as "Céline" or "Hélène".
  </Step>

  <Step title="Upload the file">
    Return to the Admin Console, drag the file into the upload window (or browse to it), and select **Upload**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check the result">
    Adobe processes the file in the background. You'll receive an email when it's done. To see the outcome and download a report of any rows that failed, go to **Users** > **Bulk operation results**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Warning>
  Product profile and user group names in the CSV must match the Admin Console **exactly**, including capital letters and spaces. A mismatch means the user is created without a licence.
</Warning>

### Example CSV rows

```csv theme={null}
Identity Type,Username,Domain,Email,First Name,Last Name,Country Code,Product Configurations,Admin Roles,Product Configurations Administered,User Groups,User Groups Administered,Products Administered,Developer Access,Auto Assigned Products
Adobe ID,,,priya.ramsamy@example.mu,Priya,Ramsamy,MU,Creative Cloud All Apps,,,Marketing,,,,
Adobe ID,,,jean.leclerc@example.mu,Jean,Leclerc,MU,Acrobat Pro,,,Finance,,,,
```

<Note>
  Column headings vary with the template and account type you download. Always start from the template the Admin Console gives you, not from this example.
</Note>

## Resend an invitation

If a user can't find their invitation email:

1. Ask them to check their junk or spam folder and search their inbox for messages from `adobe.com`.
2. In the Admin Console, go to **Users** > **Users**, select the user's name, and look for the **Resend invite** option. It's available while the invitation is still pending.
3. As an alternative, the user can go to [account.adobe.com](https://account.adobe.com) and sign in with their work email. Their assigned licence will be available once they sign in.
